[CT] Service loss since "Power Boost" started

I've got a Motorola modem/VoIP box, twice now in the past two weeks the US/DS/Online lights have turned off, or started blinking, and I've had no connectivity whatsoever. This lasts for quite a while, and trying to refresh DHCP through the router and power cycling have both failed to resolve the issue. I had absolutely no problems until this, curious if anyone else in the area has experienced this.

I tried to check the modem at 192.168.100.1 but I get a login screen.

Sounds like you are having a signal issue. Have you called in to get a tech out yet?

I was hoping it was a hiccup associated with the recent changes. Based on your reply I take it I should be calling for a tech tomorrow?

If you are continually seeing your modem go in and out of sync you should definitely get a tech out their.

i had to restart router and modem also did dhcp renew ... nothing helped...

p.s. im using cox for 4 years ... nothing like that happened before....
but overall im pretty happy with cox.
i hope that pretty soon cox gonna offer more upload speed... [CT] Service loss since "Power Boost" started - Cox (7)

On my node I am seeing 3.5Mbps down and 1.5Mbps up. That is keeping me with Cox rather then switching to UVerse at this point. Now lets see which provider can bring me native v6 and multicast first!

I think I am getting out of touch? What is it people are doing with their connections that uses that much bandwidth? Until I can watch multicast video from the internet on my PC or afford to do high def video conferencing I really don't even use the speed I have.

I would much prefer at this point to have lower more consistent latency then higher speeds.

"Power Boost", eh? When did this Mad Ave gimmick start? I've been on 15/2 for a awhile and barely get that, at least not consistantly, certainly haven't noticed this so called "Power Boost" while downloading optonline's test file.

I agree with other posters, fix their latency issues before offering virtual download speeds.

Works great here. I have the 5/2 plan and have been between 9 & 11/2 since power boost started.

I'm happy for all those who get the so called "power boost". However, I'm not so sure all of us in CT have this new feature and if we did, how would we know since we haven't gotten what we originally signed up for in the first place?

Well I got a postcard in the mail from COX telling me I have it! Now I am not one to check my bandwidth with a tester often but I have seen my download speeds slow slightly over the past year and my latency go up in the same time period. I know I am not seeing the powerboost as I rarely hit the advertised speeds for my plan.

I'm in Enfield, and I also received the post card and noticed a slight increase from speedtest.net. As of tonight my connection has died completely three times over the past two months or so. It takes at least an hour to return. Other than that, my connection is always great. No lag spikes to speak of.

I actually had a slightly worse connection when living in Somers.
