Pickle Juice Martinis are a fun dinner co*cktail to surprise your guests with. If you know anyone who loves dill pickles or pickle juice this is a great green co*cktail.
I love that this is a fun twist on a classic vodka martini.
We have been having fun with pickles this year. LOL! Did you see the Kool-Aid Pickles we made? They are bright red and so much fun. I should try making a martini out of the Kool-Aid Pickle Juice.
I am also working on making a pickle pasta salad perfect for summer. Pickles feel like the perfect ingredient to play with for summer refreshing. They are always delicious and easy to find at the local grocery store.
Do you drink pickle juice from the jar? I have to admit I didn't know this was a thing until my husband's nephews came to visit and asked if they could have the jar of pickle juice at a family barbecue. I had no idea what they were going to do with it and was a bit shocked when they tipped it back and drank straight from the jar.
They told me they loved pickle juice and fight over who gets the jar of juice. LOL! That is not a sibling fight I had ever heard of before. Now we keep a giant jar of pickles in the fridge from Costco for when they come and visit.
This may have been the catalyst for creating this pickle juice martini. It makes me wonder what other fun martini flavors we can come up with this year. We already have the classic Lemon Drop Martini along with a ton of other flavors shared. Hmmm time to think of some new martinis to share.
Ingredients
- Dill Pickle Juice
- Vodka
- Ice
Garnish - Dill Pickle Slice or pickle spear
Dill Pickle Juice - we strain a jar of dill pickles for the juice for this recipe. You can buy big jars of Pickle Juice on Amazon.
Vodka - we use plain vodka for this recipe. They do make dill pickle vodka but we didn't want to overwhelm this drink. If you use dill pickle vodka you will want to decrease the dill pickle juice. You don't need an expensive vodka for this recipe since you are mixing it with pickle juice.
Equipment Needed
Martini Glass
co*cktail Pic or toothpick - to hold the pickle garnish
Recipe Tips
Make sure to fill the shaker with ice so you get the vodka and pickle brine juice cold before pouring it into your martini glass.
There is a twist on this Pickle Martini called a Dirty Pickle that has ½ oz of dry vermouth added to it.
Different types of pickles will give different flavors to your martini. For a spicy flavor, you can use hot garlic pickle juice. This is a co*cktail recipe that can be adapted to your favorite pickle flavors. Just play around with the amount you add to get the best balance of flavors.
This recipe makes 2 pickle juice co*cktails. You can easily half the recipe if you are only making one martini.
