The funeral and burial will be 3 p.m. Sunday at HopePORTER well Baptist Church, according to International Funeral Home. Mr.

Porter was born April 23, 1916, in Muscogee County, son of Henry Porter of Columbus and the late Mayola D. Porter. He retired from the Columbus Water Works and was a member and deacon of Hopewell Baptist Church. Survivors other than his father include his wife, Tinella; five sons, Freddie Porter of Macon, John Porter, Willie Porter, Capt. Franklin Porter and Richard Porter, all of Columbus; seven daughters, Myrtis Vines of Landover, Eva Mitchell, Emma Mathis, both of Columbus, Mary McGhee of Detroit, Tinella Pierce of Fort Campbell, Diane Griffin of Fort Riley, Kansas, and Betty Jean Anderson of Atlanta; two brothers, the Rev.

Woods Cade Lee Woods, 79, of Route 8, Box 318, Phenix City, died Thursday at Cobb Memorial Hospital. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Colonial Funeral Home. Mr. Woods was born May 11, 1906, in Lee County, son of Mr. and Mrs.

Wallace Woods. He was a self-employed carpenter and Assembly of God follower. Sam 'Buck' Jones Sam "Buck" Jones, 52, of 10336 Lasell Chicago, a former resident of Russell County, died Sunday in Chicago.

The funeral and burial will be 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Mount Olive Baptist Church, Glenville, according to Sumbry Mortuary. Mr. Jones was born July 12, 1933, in Russell County, son of Allen and EfficJones of Pittsview, Ala. He was a crane operator at Blow Knox Chicago, and a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church.

Masked Pair Brandish Gun, Rob Store Two armed men one wearing a ski mask, the other with a paper bag over his head worked quickly Wednesday to scoop cash off Charles Townsend's desk at Consumer Savers, 2047 Wynnton Road, Columbus police said. Townsend's wife, Jessie Lee, heard the men and immediately ran to call police from a nearby convenience store, but the robbers were gone when a patrolman arrived a minute after her 8:34 p.m. call, investigators said. Mrs.

Townsend was in the business' bathroom and her husband was counting money in his rear office when the two bandits rushed in through an unlocked rear door and demanded money. The ski-masked man had an automatic pistol. The other man, wearing a bag over his head with eye holes cut in it, held an automatic shotgun on Townsend, police said. FISHING HUNTING 034 Julia Ingle, 95, who taught Sunday school for 72 years, died Thursday at Pine Manor nursing home. She lived at 4819 Yosemite Drive, Columbus, with her daughter, Joy Adams. The funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary with burial in Restland Memorial Park, Dallas. Mrs.

Ingle was born Jan. 3, 1890, in Ridgeway, Texas. She moved to Columbus in 1971 from Dallas, where she lived most of her life. She was a homemaker and a member of Hilton Terrace Baptist Church where she was a former teacher of the TEL Sunday school class. She began teaching Sunday school in 1913 i in Texas and continued there until she moved to Columbus in 1971.
