Of course, with the conclusion of the Final War, fans were wondering whether My Hero Academia was truly ending in the next few chapters. Thankfully, the author has essentially disregarded the rumors and it appears that the series will continue for a bit longer.

The End Of The Final War

Deku Ended The War After Defeating All For One

The Final War Saga of My Hero Academia was always going to be the very ending part of the story. In this arc, the biggest of villains brought out their very best and tested their forces against the heroes. This arc was do or die for all the Heroes in My Hero Academia, and it was one that finally saw the likes of All For One, Shigaraki, among others Heroes, at full power. Over the course of this arc, fans witnessed countless incredible battles. From the family feuds of the Todoroki all the way to battles with twisted love, such as the one fault between Ochaco and Toga, this arc had it all.

Bonds of friendship between Bakugo and Deku were also shown, and at the same time, All Might came back once again to raise the mantle of the greatest Hero of all time. This arc was phenomenal from start to finish, and although it did have instances where fans were outright bored or others where they did not agree with the decisions taken by the author, that is quite a given for any story. An author cannot satisfy every single fan, and at the same time, if there are only a few instances where the fans feel dissatisfied, then overall, the author did a decent job.

I wanted to stop you. I wanted you to stop yourself. To keep that grief and misery from spreading any further. - Deku

With the final punch he wound up, Deku was able to deliver a powerful blow to All For One, which ended up reducing him to bits. All For One ended up dying, and with him, Shigaraki died as well. This was a very sad end for Shigaraki, while All For One got what he deserved.

The Epilogue Of The Manga Begins

My Hero Academia Still Has More Exciting Things To Deliver

My Hero Academia chapter 424 opened with a very short timeskip, and fans finally got to see the post-war things being taken care of. The injuries of the heroes are still fresh; however, the war seems to have been done and dusted. In fact, the reconstruction of all the damaged cities is taking place and all the Heroes are working hard at that. Hero Society is now being rebuilt from scratch, making things very exciting. At the same time, My Hero Academia fans also get a proper look at the students who ended up pushing themselves a bit too far and, as a result, injuring themselves in grievous ways. The likes of Bakugo were focused on in the chapter, and fans finally got to see the true extent of his injuries.

Meanwhile, Deku was focused on a bit as well, and overall, this chapter just went on to show that there is more of My Hero Academia to come. All Might, who is a pivotal character in the series, also gave his two cents and declared both Bakugo and Deku to be the greatest of Heroes, and this is certainly a fitting conclusion for the series. Were Horikoshi to end the manga here, the fans would certainly be satisfied. However, he mentioned that he does not want to conclude his story here. There are too many things that he needs to address and many other plot threads that he needs to tie up. Because of those reasons, My Hero Academia will continue for longer, and things will finally go back to the academia part of the series.

"Writing conventions say that the conclusion of a story should be short, but this is not the type of manga that can immediately end after the fighting is done, so I'll keep going for a little while. We're going back to the title”

Fans were certainly worried that My Hero Academia was going to end in the upcoming few weeks. This series has been a big part of the lives of many fans for about a decade now, and this series has certainly touched the hearts of many. To see the conclusion so close would certainly worry any fan; however, it has now been confirmed that My Hero Academia is not going to end right now. The epilogue of the war still has ways to go and fans will most likely get to see a bunch of chapters before the series ends up wrapping things up. There are going to be good conclusions to the vast majority of the plot lines, and fans will most definitely see more slice-of-life things in the upcoming few chapters.

Perhaps fans will also get to see how the Hero Society shaped up after the war and what's next for those who ended up surviving. This is a very good decision from the author, as, oftentimes, when a story wraps up, the conclusion feels rushed. Horikoshi likely wants to address all the plot points that he established in his story over the years and deliver upon them one by one. This is a brilliant decision as not only does it give fans more My Hero Academia content, but it also ensures that all the characters that the author created are treated properly.

As for how long the manga will continue, fans cannot say anything. Given how Horikoshi was speaking about the ending, fans can rest assured that the manga will last for a few more months before finally wrapping up. If one had to guess, around 10 chapters or so would be ideal before My Hero Academia finally wraps up, and that gives fans enough time to process everything that happened in the Final War Saga, as well as give them something to look forward to. Hopefully, the conclusion of My Hero Academia is going to be exciting enough for the fans to give a round of applause to the author and patiently wait for his next work.

My Hero Academia is available to read via Viz Media. The series can be read by the fans officially and for free on the Shonen Jump and the Manga Plus app. The release date for the next chapter of My Hero Academia, My Hero Academia chapter 425, is set to be June 10, 2024.
