What's New to Stream This Week? Don't Miss These Releases on Hulu, Netflix and More (2024)

If this week is any indication, this fall is going to be bustling with new shows and movies. Streaming services like Apple TV Plus, Hulu and Netflix are dropping tons of new originals, from prestige dramas with impressive ensemble casts like Netflix's The Perfect Couple, to the return of the darkly comedic crime thriller Slow Horses on Apple TV Plus.

The Perfect Couple, which stars almost too many people to list (just a sampling of its cast: Nicole Kidman, Liev Schreiber, Eve Hewson, Dakota Fanning, Meghann Fahy, Isabelle Adjani), arrives on Netflix on Sept. 5. The murder mystery set in a privileged enclave on Nantucket will binge drop all at once. Netflix will also be premiering a new season of Selling Sunset this week and will air the live hot dog eating competition, dubbed Chestnut vs. Kobayashi: Unfinished Beef, on Labor Day.

On Apple TV Plus, Gary Oldman and Jack Lowden return for season 4 of Slow Horses, the show about British intelligence agents deemed too terrible at their jobs to be taken seriously... and yet somehow, they get the job done.

Hulu is making a splash with two series this week: Season 2 of the soapy drama Tell Me Lies and docuseries The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, about a group of religious TikTok influencers caught up in a sex scandal (that's almost too many buzzwords in one sentence).

Peaco*ck's star-studded series Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist, about the armed robbery that shook up Atlanta in 1970, will also arrive this week. On Starz, the second half of Power: Book II: Ghost comes out Friday, Sept. 6. The Boy and the Heron will be available on Max that day, too.
