NCAA 14 Custom Schedules, and Multiple User Teams Dynasty (2024)

Haven't been keeping up to date on mods lately. Anyone figure out a way to allow full schedule customizing? In other words, more than just the 4 or so non-conference games. And also, anyway of having more than 1 user controlled team?

In the past, I loved picking the top 12 or so teams and having all of them play each other, leaving almost all the power house teams with multiple losses at the end of the year. Made for some interesting bowls.

I'm pretty sure you can control multiple teams without any modding. At startup you can only choose one team, of course - but then you can go to the "Coach Info" screen and press R1/RB (I believe) to create a new coach. The obvious drawback is not being able to keep existing coaches, but for what you're trying to do, it should work.

Disclaimer: I have not tried this myself so I don't really know but I'm like 90% sure that's how to do it - let me know how it goes!

Yes, this is how you do it.

I'd also imagine that you can take over existing coaches using the editor.

The editor allows you to fully customize your entire schedule including conference games.

Oh that's great to know. Is there a tutorial somewhere on how to do that? I messed around with the roster editor a bit, but nothing too major. I know there are tutorials for playoffs and such, but what about schedule modifying?

The tutorials for playoffs are mainly schedule editing, so if you learn that you should have no problems editing schedules.

There's 1 main thing you need to look out for and that's getting ALL schedules correct. Here's a small example of what I mean:

My schedule (UNC)
wk4 Clemson
wk5 NC st
wk6 miami

I want to change it to:
wk4 Wake
wk5 BC
wk6 FSU

Well, by just making those 3 changes I changed the schedules of 6 other teams. Clemson now needs a new Wk4 game. Depending on who I have Clemson play in wk 4 (IE. GA Tech) I'll then have to change GA Tech's opponent and then maybe GA Tech's opponent's opponent, etc. It could spiral out of control easily.

YEP! In my first attempt, I forgot to change other teams' schedules. For instance the game assigned my first conference game as Indiana when I wanted Michigan (reflecting real life). Changed mine but forgot about Indiana and to adjust Michigan. I think I ended up giving Indiana a bye but Michigan magically played two games at once; my team and whomever the game scheduled them to play pre-mod. OOPS.

Where I learned you have to be really careful is with your bye weeks; if you don't adjust everything correctly, the game will refuse to advance the week.

Here's a thought: Single Season Mode is really a type of Dynasty. So, perhaps you might want to use the editor to experiment with a modified Single Season schedule. Once that schedule is modified and tested successfully, you might be able to use the Export/Import feature of the editor to simply copy and paste all data from the Single Season to the first year of a Dynasty.

Or, you might just want to play a Single Season, then create a new Single Season with different match-ups. I have been considering giving this approach a try, once I am finished experimenting with player ratings.
