While AI is seemingly everywhere these days, Nicolab has been assisting doctors for quite some time, with its Stroke Viewer product in the treatment of stroke patients.Nicolab was born from MR CLEAN, a randomised trial of intra-arterial (IA) treatment for acute ischemic stroke that aimed to answer the question of whether an IA intervention with usual care can lead to improved neurological outcomes. In the case of stroke patients, every minute counts. The faster a patient is treated, the better the chances of survival.Learn More: https://hubs.ly/Q01ZnqvH0

Pain occurs when nerve cells detect damage and transmit signals to the brain for interpretation. Everyone feels pain differently, which makes it challenging for doctors to define and treat.A new study, using brain scans, has found that gamma oscillations — brain waves linked to pain perception — have different timing, frequency, and location in different people. This finding could lead to pain treatments based on these individual “pain fingerprints.”Learn more right here: https://lnkd.in/gVtu7-T3 Never miss an opportunity to learn and subscribe to our email list: https://lnkd.in/g3Ps94t—————————————————————#latinosinclinicalresearch #diversityinclinicalresearch #equityinclinicalresearch #clinicalresearchguru #clinicalstudies #clinicaltrial #clinicaltrials #clinicalresearch #diversityinmedicine #medicalresearch #medicalresearchers #diversitymatters #inclusionmatters #diversity #diversidad #inclusion #inclusión

Vertigo – a symptom of a damaged vestibular system – will affect up to 30% of all individuals in their lifetime. But what causes it?That question is taken very seriously by ENT professionals, as vertigo can present similarly in a patient with a mild cold to one suffering a stroke. Neuroscientist Dr. Nicholas Yang wants to find an easier and more accurate method to distinguish between two types of vertigo. Awarded a Garnett Passe and Rodney Williams Research Scholarship, he's using non-invasive methods and machine-learning to help him in this task, the results of which could potentially impact around 1m Australians per year.Read more about Nicholas and his project on our website.#BalanceAwarenessWeek #Otolaryngology#OHNS#EarNoseThroat#ENT#Vestibular#vestibularfunction#vestibularsystem#vestibular2023#vestibularrehabilitation#balance#vertigohttps://lnkd.in/g2-XYftS
